Specialist Re-plastering
Following any damp proof installation, the correct re-plastering is of the utmost importance.
The special plastering must prevent the passage of residual moisture reaching the surface during the drying out period.
The special plastering must prevent the passage of hygroscopic salts from the underlying masonry to the surface of the new decorative surface, in order to prevent any further spoiling.
The specialist plaster is applied to the areas where the damp proof course has been installed. The mixing of the specialist plastering carried out is 3 parts washed loam free "M" grading sand with 1 part cement incorporating the waterproofing additives.
The Renderguard Gold waterproofing additive is mixed with 1 part Renderguard to 24 parts water free from any contaminations. The finish coat of plaster should be a 3mm layer of Gypsum skim finish.
No decorations over the new plaster should take place for at least 6 weeks after treatment ( or until the plaster and wall has completely dried out). Low solid emulsion paint can be applied after the 6 week drying out period.
All the specialist plastering works carry a guarantee backed by the PGA ( Property Guarantee administration) if required.
